general information

Aoudad sheep is an invasive specie in North Mexico and south of the United States, this is a challenging hunt in the high dessert mountains , that makes it one of the most popular big game aniamals around the world, but not only this, Aoudad sheep are considered one of the least expensive mountain hunts worldwide; this is a great way to have an idea about what a mountain hunt is all about.

Hunt Difficulty/Health level

This is like any other Mountain hunt with its different challenges, the hunting will be done walking and hiking through the steep mountains, so the difficulty level could be considered high. Keep in mind you will be hunting at around 3000 and 4500 foot elevation.

Most hunters who are in sheep shape do not have a problem on this hunt at all and, of course, you will always set the pace of the hunt for the guides, so there is strenuous effort required for this hunt on your part.

Weapons/Calibers Recommended

We highly recommend bringing your own rifle, there’s nothing like trusting the gun you know best. We can assist with the firearms importation process.
Caliber recommended for this type of hunt, would be in the .270 to .300, or 7mm, range. Again, this comes down to personal preference.
