
Gould’s Turkey Hunts
Yukkutz Hunting now offers the experience of Gould’s Turkey hunting in Northern Mexico, located 2.5 hours from Durango City.
Hunting Season
For the upcoming season, there will be 4 hunting weeks, from mid April to mid-May.
We can accommodate groups of 4–6 hunters.
Travel Information
Flight arrangements should be scheduled to Durango, MX, where you will be greeted by Yukkutz staff and driven to the lodge.
There are direct flights from Dallas to Durango, with an estimated flight time of 2.5 hours.

Hunt Schedule
A typical hunting day begins with a wake-up call at 4:30 a.m. Hunters are treated to a light breakfast (coffee, juice, fruit, cereal, and toast) before departing in vehicles to the hunting areas.
- 4:30 AM – Wake-up call and light breakfast (coffee, juice, fruit, cereal, toast)
- 5:00 AM –Morning hunt in vehicles until noon
- 11:00 AM – Return to camp for lunch
- Afternoon hunt from 4:00 PM until dark
- Supper at camp at 8:00 PM
This is a 1-on-1 guided hunt.
Camp Accommodations
Hunters stay at cabins in the mountains, allowing hunting just a few steps from your lodging.
Each cabin includes:
- 2 bedrooms
- 1 bathroom
- Dining and living area
- Glamping tents
We have two cabins available for guests.
All meals and beverages are included, except alcoholic beverages.

General Information
Our lease of 70,000+ acres in the La Michililla Biosphere Reserve of Durango supports a healthy Gould’s Turkey population, with stunning views of the Sierra Madre Mountains.
Experienced guides will have some birds patterned before your arrival. You can choose to plan the hunt with your guide or allow the guide to determine the best strategy to get birds in shooting range.
